[詩歌翻譯] O Little Town
福音歌手Matt Redman今年的聖誕專輯當中，放入了小伯利恆這首傳世的經典聖歌的不同版本，添加了新的元素；但在這樣的變化當中，歌詞所傳遞的訊息，絲毫沒有減少。
小伯利恆這首詩歌是由Phillips Brooks牧師(1835-1893)於西元1868年作詞，Lewis Redner(1830-1908，Brook牧師教會的風琴師，organist)譜曲。寫詞的靈感來自於Brooks牧師1865年時造訪了伯利恆這一個小鎮，留下深刻的印象。
聖誕節的不久前，Brook牧師邀請Redner為這歌詞譜曲，好讓聖誕主日的那天，可以獻唱這一首詩歌，但是在要正式練習的前兩天，他確認和靈感都沒有，而到前一天晚上，他對於這一首詩歌還是毫無頭緒。要練習的前一個夜晚Redner在睡夢中聽見了像天使般的聲音在他耳邊低語，而那就是這首傳世經典聖歌的弦律。而在隔天一早要去教會練習之前，他才完成了全部的和音。
Rednerc的回憶當中提到，他和Brook牧師都不曾想過，這首詩歌會活過當年！
過了148年後，今年讓我們再次用這首詩歌預備迎接歡慶基督降世的盛大慶典吧～
